Cloth Diaper Trial Kit:

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a trial right for me?

Well, only you can truly make that decision.  If you have been curious about cloth diapers, heard about all of their many benefits, and want to give it a shot, this may be the program for you.  Our trial kits allows you to "try before you buy."  You will get a stash of cloth diapers (many different types, depending on the kit you choose), keep them for about a month (or longer if needed), and try them out.  You keep them, use them, wash them, and use them as if they were your own.  At the end of the trial, keep the ones you want (or all of them!) and return the ones you don't (or all of them!).  You get all of this with very little investment up front.

Should I just use a diaper service?

We LOVE diaper services!  We are one!  Prefolds, Snappis, and covers are a tried and true method of cloth diapering.  If you are interested in using cloth diapers, but not at all interested in doing any extra laundry, using our diaper service may be your best bet.  All of the benefits of cloth diapers, none of the laundry.  But, cloth diapers have come a long way in recent years.  Most diaper services (including ours) use prefolds in their service.  Many familes prefer the one-step option of a Pocket diaper or All-In-One cloth diaper.  If that's you, a trial kit just might be the perfect option for you.

How much does it cost?

You pay a deposit for using the trial kit depending on the package you choose.  This deposit is completely refunded when the kit is returned, minus the trial fee, and covers the cost of the diapers you used.  The deposit is collected before we drop off your kit.  Each package is a little different based on what you need.  Click HERE to see what is included in each of our trial kits.

Why is there a trial fee?

The trial fee includes the initial delivery of your kit (to your door!) as well as the pick-up of the kit at the conclusion of your trial.  It is also the fee you pay to "rent" the diapers for the length of your trial.  The trial fee is the non-refundable portion of your deposit.

What if I need more than a month?

We will check in with you when your trial is coming to an end.  After your 28 days is up, if you decide you still need a little more time to make up your mind and would benefit from another month trial, we can certainly do that.  Since you already paid the deposit for the diapers, we would simply need to collect a second trial fee ($30) for the next month and the diapers are yours for another 28 days.

How do I get the diapers?

If you live in our free delivery area (within 30 miles of downtown Charlotte), your trial fee includes the initial drop-off of your kit as well as the pick-up after the trial is over.  If you don't live inside our free delivery area but are interested in trying out our kit, just contact us!  We'll work something out.

How do I return the diapers to you?

You don't!  We'll pick them up (if you live inside our free delivery area).  The cost to drop-off the diapers initially and pick them back up after the trial is over is included in the trial fee.  If you are outside of our free delivery area, just contact us.  We'll work something out.

What if I want to keep some of the diapers?

Great!  That's what we're hoping to hear!  We hope using this kit will make you fall in love with cloth diapers and want to continue keeping your little one's butt happy in them.  At the end of the trial, if you've found some diapers you love and want to keep, go right ahead.  We'll simply deduct the price of the diapers you're keeping from your original deposit.

What if I return my diapers with stains?

Stains happen.  These are poop-catching-diapers, after all.  Normal staining and discoloration due to a month's worth of use is to be expected.  Stains that are outside of normal use (mold, cleaning products, non-cloth safe diaper creams, etc.) will be charged to your account.  To minimize staining, we recommend dumping sold waste in the toilet and running a cold wash cycle (with very little to no detergent) before fully washing your diapers.  Line drying your diapers in the sun also goes a long way toward fighting stains if you are able to do so.

What if some of my diapers are damaged?

We expect some general "wear and tear" on the diapers you're using.  Some staining may occur, that is to be expected.  However, if you lose a diaper or if one is damaged outside of normal wear and tear (holes in the diaper, pet damage, etc.) you will be responsible for the full replacement cost.
